You’ll get more confident as you get older, Shelley. Keep writing down ideas and drawing – I think drawing is just as important as writing, actually. It’s creative and also helps you relax.
Buy some cool pens next time you get some birthday money!

thx for the ideas i have write down some about a girl called henrieta her brother henry her mum hillery and her dad harry very counfusing !!! i know welll its about henrieta and she has a dog called guess ….. i will give you a clue it starts with H you got it humphrey and she spends most time looking after him and then one day when she gets back from school she cant find humphrey so she asks her mum and well id ont have much time but baciley he dies and then the get her a new dog

Wow! You were quick – I haven’t even written your school’s blog yet! Thank you for writing. I really hope you enjoy Love Simonexxx. Hey, your piano teacher must be stunning!
I sure can give you a few tips to write. You’ll find some on my FAQ page on my website but the main thing is to try out a few ideas on paper first. Maybe make up a name for a character and give the character some bad habits. Now think of a place where your character lives. Describe the house (or tree or whatever). Don’t worry about metaphors and camera pan zoom. I never do! Just write. And read. Reading will give you ideas. There are also great websites such as Young Writer and Write Away that you might find helpful. Good luck and don’t get stressed about it. You might not be good at writing but I bet you’re good at loads of other things. Buying brilliant books for a start!
