Well, they’re in, they’re varnished and they’re full. My new fitted bookshelves look great. Richard, the joiner who made them in his workshop, brought them in two pieces:
Then he fitted them. It took him all day but he did a grand job.
I spent yesterday morning varnishing them with my own fair hands. I used the quick dry clear stuff which meant that by the time I came back from watching Lincoln Ladies play Doncaster Belles (Belles won 1-0) I could fill the shelves with books.
It didn’t take long.
I couldn’t believe it but my own titles took up a whole shelf. How did that happen? It doesn’t seem two minutes since my first book, Vicious Circle was published. Mind you, I include reprints in my collection and Clubbing Together (the fat pink one) would be the one that’s had the most reprints and so takes up most space. Still, a round of applause for me, eh? I am now what is known in the book world as a presence (in my own little book world anyway!) Next time a teacher asks ‘Should I have heard of you?’ (as happened the other day) the answer is Yes, missus, you blimmin well should!
Now all I’ve got to do is work out why my blog images go where ever they feel like it the second I press ‘publish’. OK, that’s it on the general front. Now over to the Goal Lines blog (where Blogger does do what I ask it with my pictures!) to write about the Women’s Super League match. Adios, amigos.
