Making poems from book spines

What a simple but brilliant idea for creating poetry. This came from the brainpickings website via Twitter. All you do is choose some books (4 or 5) from your bookshelves and create a poem from the titles. When I say ‘all you do’ you obviously have to put some thought into the word play the titles create and if there’s a theme to them. Have a go!

Here’s one using some of my titles:

Here Come the Girls

Here come the girls:

Alex’s back.

Sammie’s back.

Brodie’s back.

Jolene’s back.

Accidental friends,

Clubbing together.

My second attempt is rather darker:

What the birds see

What the birds see,

Poison.

Malice.

Abomination.
