World Book Day 2013

I am heading down to Devon for three days – today is my travelling day and then Wednesday and Thursday I’m in schools. The first school (Wednesday)  is Sidmouth College near Exeter and the second, on Thursday, AKA World Book Day, is at St Luke’s Sports and Science College in Exeter itself. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone on both days.  What’s great is that I know from Twitter that hundreds of writers, poets and illustrators are all doing the same thing – heading off to all corners of the UK on school visits. Group hug everybody! Happy World Book Day.

The word on the street is that 99% of participating schools will be having a ‘Come dressed as your favourite character from a book’ theme.  I think Lizzie set the standards here:

Lizzie as Megan from Do Goalkeepers Wear Tiaras?

Megan Fawcett, goalie and captain of Parrs U11s (Girls FC)

I’m back Friday. Let me know what your school did to celebrate. Bye.
