Denbighshire Book Week…

Book Week in Denbighshire was wonderful. I had three days of meeting super librarians like these:

The irrepressible Bethan Hughes, Services Manager of Denbighshire Library Services

Kara Orford, children’s librarian at Prestatyn and St Asaph’s libraries

and baker of amazing cup cakes

And three days of performing in libraries as ancient and wonderful as this one in Denbigh…

… not to mention being blown away by pupils with super-amazing-astounding-and-nutty brains like these:

Pupils from Ysgol y Llys in Prestatyn Library  We were joined by a member of the public for this session. The lady had come in to choose books for her 8- year old daughter and stayed to listen to my talk. Originally from Estonia, she had never met an author before and was fascinated. ‘That was one of the best hours of my life,’ she told Kara afterwards. How’s that for an endorsement?

I even managed to pick up a bit of Welsh:

So a big fat thank you to everyone I met during the three super days and apologies to those schools where I didn’t take a photograph.
