Brody is now in Year 7. Life is great - she's enjoying her new school, especially as she knows Reggie will be waiting for her at the end of each day. They both still go to the After School club but it's hard to find any one-on-one time what with Ruby, Reggie's hyperactive little sister following them round all the time. Still, there's plenty to do what with her being captain of the Big Book Quiz Mrs Fryston's organised. It all goes wrong when Brody's house is burgled and Reggie lets her down badly. Brody decides she's had enough of being 'Miss Congeniality' and goes for 'Miss Bad Attitude' instead...
'This book is great for a humorous and interesting story. We get to find out what it's like being famous and if it's all it's cracked up to be!'
I wanted to develop Brody's relationship with Reggie and also give her a major problem to deal with. I wanted that problem to get away from the family situation/ death/divorce topics I usually cover and deal with something more external. A break-in at her home seemed a reasonable idea, especially with Brody and her high-profile family living in a huge house full of antiques.
